BIOGRAPHY: His father died when he was 6 years old. His mother left and he was cared for by his mother's widowed sister whose married name was Smith. She lived with John's Aunt and Uncle, Marie L. Abel and Edmund B. Fladung until John was formally adopted by his Aunt and Uncle.
BURIAL_SITE: She was cremated as she instructed and her ashes were taken out into the Atlantic Ocean off of Ocean City, Maryland and distributed to the waves.
